Is Your Number Showing as "Spam"? Here's Why (and How to Fix It!)

Resources For Spam Delisting
Clarktel has compiled some self-help de-listing instructions found here
Have you noticed more customers ignoring your calls lately? Maybe their caller ID warns "Spam Likely," and suddenly, your calls go unanswered.
Unfortunately, scammers now routinely hijack legitimate phone numbers—like yours—to flood phones with robocalls. When that happens, your number unfairly lands on spam lists.
Why does this happen?
Mobile providers rely on automated systems from companies like Hiya, First Orion, and TNS. These systems flag numbers when they detect sudden bursts of short calls, high call volume, or customer spam reports. Even a brief spike in unusual calling activity can trigger the dreaded "spam" label.
Can this be fixed?
Absolutely—but it's important to note this issue isn't related to how your Clarktel managed phone system operates. Instead, it's caused by scammers and involves third-party voice carriers who must manually remove your number from spam lists.
Here's how you get your caller ID clean again:
Register your numbers (it’s free) at FreeCallerRegistry.comThis one listing hits AT&T + Verizon + T-Mobile in one shot!
If a specific voice carrier has you listed as a spammer, you need to contact them directly to start the process of being de-listed.
If it wasn't a "spoofer" using your phone number illegally that got you listed, then improve your dialing practices: avoid repeated call attempts after voicemail, honor opt-out requests quickly, and keep abandoned calls under 3%.
If a carrier still tags you as spam after three days, immediately submit a dispute ticket.
Unfortunately, every carrier’s de-listing process is a bit different and many make it difficult to understand how to start the process. To try to make it easier, Clarktel is beginning to collect some of those carrier processes now for a future FAQ posting to our website.
If you find you do need our help with this, you can contact us to open a support ticket.
Clarktel will assign a team member to secure the details from you and navigate the carrier de-listing process. During the process, we’ll keep in touch with you about our progress; tracking our efforts against a support ticket that invoices you only when your number has been de-listed.
